Privacy Policy

Privacy comes first.

Last updated: May 29, 2026

GrepMind is designed as a local-first AI knowledge base. This policy explains what data the app may process, how it is used, and how users control it. GrepMind is currently in development, and this policy will be updated as the product and services evolve.

Data GrepMind May Process

With your permission, GrepMind may process the following data sources:

How Data Is Used

GrepMind uses permitted data to:

Local-First Processing

GrepMind is intended to process and index knowledge locally by default. Local indexes remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync, export, or share them through a future feature.

Cloud Models and Third-Party AI

GrepMind may offer optional cloud model integrations, such as DeepSeek or other external AI services. Before sending personal content to an external model, the app will:

External AI providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies. GrepMind should send only the context needed for the task you request. Fully on-device inference (such as local models) does not involve any external data transmission.

Recording and Screen Memory

Audio recording, video processing, meeting transcription, and screen memory features require explicit permission. GrepMind will provide a clear visual and/or audible indication whenever recording or screen memory capture is active. You are responsible for following applicable laws and obtaining any necessary consent from meeting participants.

Agent Mode and External Messages

Future Agent Mode features may draft replies, assist in meetings, create tasks, or send messages through services such as Feishu, WeChat, email, or calendars. Before any external communication is sent, GrepMind will display:

Actions that communicate with other people or modify external systems require your explicit approval unless you configure a specific low-risk automation rule.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your private knowledge base for advertising. We do not use your private content to train models unless a future feature asks for separate explicit consent.

Data may be shared only when:

Retention and Deletion

You should be able to pause indexing, remove sources, delete local indexes, and revoke permissions. If GrepMind offers account-based cloud features in the future, we will provide a way to request deletion of account data.

Security

GrepMind should use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so sensitive workflows should use local processing and minimal sharing whenever possible.

Children

GrepMind is designed for professional and personal productivity use and is not directed to children.
